It's always interesting when British tabloids report on German books. Compare
today's Daily Mail piece on Timur Vermes'
Er ist wieder da with
the book's description in
New Books in German, for which I wrote the report. There are a few similarities. Rights have sold, incidentally, to MacLehose Press, who have an expert translator lined up. The comments section is amusing too.

Yikes, that is almost word for word your synopsis. Like we needed more reasons to hate the Daily Mail...
I can hardly wait to read it. I think Tuvia Tenenbom would enjoy it too! Seehttp://acommonreader.org/review-hitlers-room-tuvia-tenenbo/
Thanks for the link, Tom. I've been following that Tenenbom story vaguely, although it didn't feel like it was quite within my remit. Your review kind of confirms what I'd assumed about the book.
The Vermes novel is very intelligently done, I have to say. Yes, maybe he would like it.
Florian, it was really strange reading it because I didn't recognise my own words straight away but they did seem really familiar. And I was wondering why on earth that would be in a Daily Mail article!
Maybe you should take it as a compliment, Katy - plagiarism is the sincerest form of flattery...
